SunState is not a debt collection agency. Witness/Person Locates
SunState Investigative Services has direct access to the premier public and proprietary databases. These are not "google" or "yahoo" searches, rather they include subscription only databases, including Lexis/Nexis, ChoicePoint, and other proprietary companies; government databases including Motor Vehicle Records, Statewide and Federal Criminal and Civil Court records; and an entire array of public records sources. For those individuals who cannot be found by these means, SunState is fully capable of conducting investigations "on the ground” at former residences, places of employment, County Clerk's offices, etc., to develop leads to your witnesses.
Once your witness is located you may wish him or her to be interviewed, with or without a written or recorded statement. Our highly skilled investigators are thoroughly trained and experienced in conducting interviews. Prior to an interview we will review the facts of the case with you to insure that all of your issues are addressed. We will give you a full assessment of the person being interviewed and provide you with the good and bad news, not just what we think you want to hear.
Some people such as "Dead Beat Dads," "Judgment Debtors," "Criminals," etc., can be difficult but not impossible to locate. The more information you can provide us with the better the chances for success.
Nationwide/Worldwide Criminal Records
Contrary to what is allegedly available elsewhere, there is no such thing as a Nationwide Crime Record Search for non-law enforcement investigators. Not all States have a central repository, and not all counties sell their data to information brokers.
Those that offer to sell you this product either don't know, or don't care.
The only national repository is maintained by the F.B.I., and it is available to law enforcement only. What is sold by information brokers and private investigators is a patchwork of some state records, some "State Correction Department" records, some newspaper reports, but don't be fooled...this is NOT a comprehensive criminal history search.
In States with a Central Repository, SunState Investigative Services can provide you with a comprehensive search. Where there is no central repository we will identify and recommend the search of all counties and adjoining counties in which your subject either worked or lived.
SunState can be conducted a nationwide search of the Federal District Courts, and through our dedicated networks around the world we can conduct criminal backgrounds on a global scale.

Surveillance provides you and your clients with the means to verify a persons real life daily activities. At SunState Investigative Services, surveillance is both an art and a science. Prior to an investigator being dispatched a complete and thorough background investigation is conducted on every subject so that a surveillance plan can be tailored to each individual case. We will verify the subjects known addresses, employment, vehicle registrations, identify others in the household and their vehicles, identify relatives and associates. A pre-surveillance visit to the subject’s location will be made to evaluate whether one, or multiple investigators will be necessary to successfully complete the assignment. Issues of population density, demographics, availability of mass transit, number of entrances to the residence or place of employment including garages, etc., are all taken into consideration.
Unless there is specific knowledge that a subject will be in a certain place at a certain time, our investigators will conduct surveillance in six (6) hour blocks of time, beginning with the most appropriate hours for the subject’s individual lifestyle. If no activity is observed the hours will be changed for the next surveillance until the subject’s pattern is learned.
From that point on, our expert investigators will document the subject’s
daily activities and communicate them to you quickly so that you can determine if the investigation should be continued or terminated.
In the end, the issue of who will be conducting your investigations will have a direct impact on the results, both short and long term. Not only do we want to "get the tape" but we will be there for our clients up to and including our professional testimony at trial.
